Psalm 24:1-10
Psalm 24 calls our eyes upward, beyond the temporal, to behold the eternal King of Glory—Jesus Christ, the Lord of hosts. In “Who Is This King of Glory?” we journey through David’s psalm verse by verse, witnessing a majestic declaration: “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” Every part of creation belongs to Him, formed by His word and sustained by His power.
Yet the psalm confronts us with a penetrating question: “Who may ascend the hill of the Lord?” The answer reveals our need for clean hands and a pure heart—conditions none can fully meet apart from Christ. Through the gospel, we see that Jesus Himself satisfies God’s holy standard, opening the gates of heaven to all who are redeemed by His blood.
As the psalm reaches its crescendo, the ancient doors are lifted, and the eternal cry echoes: “Who is this King of Glory?” The answer resounds through time—He is the Lord strong and mighty, the conquering King who triumphed over sin, death, and the grave. This teaching invites each of us to bow before Him, prepare our hearts for His return, and welcome the King of Glory—not only into His city, but into the depths of our lives. How might your heart respond to the King who reigns over all?
