1 Corinthians 11:23-32
The Lord’s Supper is far more than a tradition — it is a sacred remembrance of the Savior who gave His life for us. Paul reminds the church at Corinth, and believers today, that communion is not about ritual, but about relationship. On the night He was betrayed, Jesus broke the bread and lifted the cup, revealing that His body would be given and His blood poured out to redeem humanity from sin, a moment filled with sorrow, love, and divine purpose.
Paul warns that this holy act must never be approached lightly. To partake without reverence or without examining our hearts is to overlook the immense significance of Christ’s sacrifice. Each time we eat the bread and drink the cup, we proclaim His death — not in despair, but in worship, gratitude, and anticipation, “until He comes.”
This sacred practice calls us to look back in thankfulness, look inward with humility, and look forward in hope. The Lord’s Supper is more than a remembrance; it is renewal, drawing us closer to Christ and uniting us with one another as we proclaim the eternal truth: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.” How can this moment of communion transform the way you live today?
