Titus 1:10-16
The Apostle Paul’s warning to Titus reverberates across generations, reminding us that not every voice within the church speaks for Christ. Some teachings, though eloquent, carry the weight of deception—spreading confusion, scattering the flock, and leaving believers vulnerable. This message, Sharp Arrows Burning Coals, exposes the danger of spiritual corruption when discernment wanes and truth is replaced by smooth words and empty promises.
Amid this sobering reality, hope remains. Christ raises up true shepherds—men and women purified by His Word, devoted to His truth, and steadfast in grace. The call is not to fight deception with louder voices, but with godly living, faithful teaching, and unwavering obedience. Titus was instructed to reprove sharply, not to destroy, but to restore, bringing hearts back to wholeness in Christ.
Purity begins within. When Christ cleanses the heart, every word and deed aligns with His truth; without Him, even our best efforts remain tainted. This teaching challenges us to examine our own faith, measure every voice by Scripture, and cling tightly to the One who alone can make us clean. In a world of persuasive but empty words, the call to discernment and holiness has never been more urgent.
How are we discerning the voices around us, ensuring they align with God’s Word? In what ways might we allow Christ to purify our hearts so that our lives testify to His truth and grace?
