1 John 5:13-21
Life is often unpredictable, filled with trials, uncertainty, and unanswered questions. Yet in the midst of it all, believers in Christ can stand on one unshakable truth: we have eternal life. Faith in Jesus is not dependent on circumstances or feelings, but anchored in the certainty of God’s Word. Even when storms rage around us, our souls find security in the assurance of salvation, the confidence that prayers aligned with God’s will are heard, and the comfort that Christ Himself guards us.
John reminds us that sin is real and serious, but grace is greater. Those who belong to God are protected by the Son, shielded from the darkness of the world. Through the Spirit, we gain understanding and clarity about who Jesus is—the eternal Son of God, our refuge, and our life. In Him, fear loses its power, and hope finds its home.
As the Apostle closes his letter, he issues a timeless warning: guard your hearts against anything that would take Christ’s place. Our devotion must remain focused, our love undistracted, and our lives lived in light of eternity. We know who we are, we know to whom we belong, and we know that in Christ, life everlasting is secured. How does the certainty of your salvation shape the way you live, pray, and love today?
