John 6:22-34
When Jesus fed the five thousand, many witnessed the miracle, yet missed the deeper message. In John 6:22–34, the crowd followed Him for physical nourishment, but Christ was offering something far greater: spiritual sustenance that never fades. He is the Bread of Life, inviting us to satisfy our deepest hunger in Him. This passage challenges us to reflect—do we seek Jesus only for what He can give, or because we desire Him above all else?
The story of the manna in the wilderness, the multiplication of loaves and fish, and the disciples’ growing understanding reveal a timeless truth: earthly satisfaction is fleeting, but life in Christ endures forever. He calms our storms, meets the deepest longings of our hearts, and sustains our souls in ways nothing else can. Every miracle points to His person, not just the provision, calling us to see beyond the immediate to the eternal.
In this teaching, “Our Next Meal,” we are invited to stop chasing temporary fulfillment and feast on the everlasting Bread. Jesus is more than a provider of daily sustenance—He is the Bread Himself, come down from heaven, sealed by the Father, and able to satisfy every soul that turns to Him in faith. How might your life change if you sought Christ above all else, feeding on His presence rather than the fleeting offerings of the world? What does it mean to truly be nourished by the Bread of Life?
