Acts 9:20-31
Acts 9:20–31 reveals the astonishing continuation of Saul’s transformation — a powerful reminder that no one is beyond God’s redeeming grace. Once the fiercest enemy of Christ, Saul becomes His boldest witness. The man who came to Damascus to arrest believers now proclaims that Jesus is the Son of God. This dramatic reversal showcases God’s power to not just reform, but to resurrect a life.
Saul’s new life was not without cost. Those he once sought to destroy became his family, while his former allies turned against him. Threats surrounded him, and his daring escape “through the window in a basket” revealed God’s sovereign protection. Even persecution was used to shape and strengthen him for the ministry ahead, as the Lord guided each step of his journey.
In the quiet years in Arabia and Tarsus, God refined Saul in solitude, deepening his faith and preparing him to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth. Through the encouragement of Barnabas, he was welcomed into the fellowship of believers and boldly proclaimed the name of Jesus. From brokenness to boldness, from hatred to hope, Saul’s story reminds us that surrender to Christ brings new life, turning the past into a testimony of grace. How might God transform the challenges in your life into opportunities for bold witness and growth in faith?
