John 1:14-18
In John 1:14–18, we are invited to stand on holy ground and witness a mystery that transforms everything: the eternal Word becoming flesh. The glory of God, once veiled in fire and shadow, is now revealed in Jesus Christ. Here, divinity meets humanity, and the infinite steps into time, drawing near to those He created.
This passage reveals the heart of the Gospel: the Creator enters His creation, the Sustainer embraces weakness, and the Redeemer bears our sin so that we might behold His glory. John emphasizes that while the Law came through Moses, grace and truth come through Christ. The light that no darkness can overcome shines among us, making visible the invisible God.
Through careful reflection, we see that the majesty of Jesus’ deity is perfectly balanced with the tenderness of His humanity. He is fully God and fully man, offering intimacy without diminishing His glory. Every word, every action, every moment of His earthly life points to the grace that flows to us freely, the truth that steadies our hearts, and the hope that secures eternity.
As we behold Him, we are called to respond — to recognize the divine presence that walks among us, to receive the grace that transforms, and to reflect His glory in our daily lives. How might your life change if you truly rested in the nearness of Christ? What would it mean to behold His glory not only in Scripture, but in every encounter, every choice, every moment?
