John 3:1-21
In the quiet of night, a man named Nicodemus approached with questions that no wealth, knowledge, or power could answer. Many hearts have echoed his inquiry: “How can I be right with God? How can I prepare for eternity?” What he sought was not found in rules, rituals, or religion, but in a life transformed from above. True peace, lasting hope, and a secure eternity are found in the renewing work of the Spirit and the love poured out through Christ.
Jesus offered Nicodemus not a checklist of morality but a promise of rebirth. Being “born again” is not a mere reforming of the old self; it is a spiritual awakening, a transformation that flows from God’s grace. Just as the bronze serpent lifted in the wilderness offered healing to those bitten by venom, the Son of Man would be lifted up, giving life to all who look to Him in faith. The cure for sin’s sting is not our striving—it is Christ lifted on the cross.
These words, “For God so loved the world,” are more than familiar phrases—they reveal the heartbeat of heaven. Salvation is not earned by effort or merit; it is a gift received by faith. Eternal life begins the moment we trust in the Savior who was lifted up for us. As you consider your own journey, what might it look like to truly look to Christ, believe in His love, and experience life in Him today?
