Matthew 22:41-46
Jesus poses a question that cuts through every pretense and challenges every heart: “Who do you say that He is?” This inquiry is not merely intellectual—it draws a line between knowing about Him and truly knowing Him as Lord. In His encounter with the Pharisees, those confident in their traditions find themselves speechless. Their arguments crumble beneath the authority of the Son of God, revealing a truth they could not grasp: the Messiah is both the Son of David and the Son of God, both human and divine, the Savior who fulfills all prophecy.
This question continues to echo across time, reaching into our own hearts. Many recognize Jesus as a teacher, a moral example, or a prophet—but the call is to see Him as Lord. True peace with the Father comes only through confessing Him as God in the flesh, risen from the dead, victorious over sin and death. Seated at the right hand of God, He reigns supreme, and one day every foe will be placed beneath His feet. His identity is clear, His authority unchallenged, and His invitation unwavering.
In a world overflowing with opinions and competing voices, the same question pierces through: will we honor Him as more than a man, as the living Lord? The truth has been revealed in His Word and confirmed by the resurrection, calling each soul to respond. Silence before His glory leaves hearts untouched, but belief draws us into the fullness of everlasting life. How will you answer? Will you see Him as Savior, or remain bound by the limits of human understanding?
