Psalm 84:1-12
In Psalm 84, the psalmist sings a song of longing — a homesickness not for a house or a homeland, but for the presence of God Himself. Far from the temple and the familiar rhythms of worship, his heart aches to be near the Lord once more. Every line of this psalm pulses with desire — a holy yearning for communion with the One who alone satisfies the soul.
In this message from Berean Bible Fellowship, we are reminded that believers, too, are travelers in a foreign land — pilgrims passing through a world that cannot be our home. Our hearts echo the same ache: to dwell forever in the presence of Christ. Along the way, through valleys of weeping and moments of joy, God strengthens us by His Word, sustains us by His Spirit, and keeps us by His grace until the day we appear before Him in glory.
Homesick invites us to rediscover the beauty of longing for God — to see our struggles and waiting not as detours, but as steps on the journey home. Psalm 84 reminds us that a single day in His presence is better than a thousand elsewhere. Blessed are those whose hearts are set on pilgrimage, whose hope and strength are found in Him alone.
May this message encourage every weary traveler to press on with joy, to trust His promises in every valley, and to remember: the journey is temporary — but the destination is eternal.
