Revelation 17:1-18
This vision unveils a world seduced by illusion—a faith that appears radiant and holy, yet harbors corruption and rebellion. Nations and leaders are captivated by its allure, blinded to the truth beneath the splendor. The imagery is striking: a woman adorned in purple and scarlet, mounted on a scarlet beast, jeweled and beautiful on the outside, yet harboring the sinister work of deception. Behind this façade lies a counterfeit system, designed not to lead hearts to God but to draw them away.
In this message, we are reminded that appearances can be deceiving. True worship is defined not by spectacle or persuasion, but by alignment with God’s heart. Just as John was guided into the wilderness to see clearly, believers are called to step back from the clamor of the world and discern what is genuine. The promises of unity, peace, and prosperity can mask the greatest deception the earth has ever known, yet even amid falsehood, God’s justice and sovereignty remain unshaken.
Reflecting on this vision challenges us to examine the faith we follow: Are our hearts drawn to what is real or what is merely enticing? The ultimate triumph belongs to the Lamb, and every counterfeit system will crumble. May this revelation inspire a deeper search for truth, a clearer devotion to Christ, and a courage to stand firm when the world’s allure grows strongest.
