1 John 3:1-10
The Apostle John draws a clear line between truth and deception, life and death, righteousness and sin. In a world that insists everything is relative, he reminds us that God’s truth is absolute. There is no middle ground between light and darkness, no gray area between holiness and rebellion. Each of us must confront a profound question: on which side of this line do we stand?
John calls believers to reflect on the immeasurable love God has poured into our lives — the love that makes us His children. This adoption is not earned; it is a gift. But being a child of God transforms us, purifying our hearts, shaping our desires, and compelling us to live in obedience and righteousness. Those who truly belong to Christ cannot remain comfortable in sin, for His Spirit now dwells within them. A life marked by righteousness reflects the character of the Savior, while continued rebellion reveals allegiance to the enemy.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, breaking sin’s hold and bringing us from death to life. The dividing line is unmistakable, and true salvation produces visible transformation. We are no longer defined by rebellion, but by love, purity, and obedience. The question is not whether the line exists — it does — but whether our lives show that we stand with the Son of God, who crossed eternity to redeem us. How does your life reflect the side of the line you have chosen?
