Colossians 1:9-14
Coming to Christ is more than a change of heart—it is a change of address. Spiritually, we are no longer residents of the kingdom of darkness; we have been transferred into the kingdom of God’s beloved Son. This transformation affects how we see ourselves, others, and the world. We live as citizens of heaven, yet we walk in a world still marked by trials, temptations, and challenges.
Paul’s prayer for the Colossians speaks across time: he prays for believers to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will, strengthened by His power, and rooted in wisdom, so that their lives reflect the Lord’s glory. Faith is never static; growth draws attention from the enemy, and perseverance requires endurance, patience, and joy. True strength comes not from circumstances or feelings, but from the unshakable reality that Christ has secured our place in His kingdom.
Every blessing, setback, and trial becomes an opportunity to live from this new identity. Freed from the power of darkness, anchored in eternal inheritance, and filled with the Spirit, our hearts are called to gratitude and obedience. Acceptance is no longer something we chase; it is the gift of God, already ours in Christ. The ransom has been paid, the debt forgiven, and the door to the kingdom thrown wide open.
Take a moment to reflect: how does this new spiritual address shape the way you live today? Are your choices, words, and priorities aligned with the reality that you are truly at home in Him? How might you walk differently, knowing that Christ’s kingdom is now your dwelling place?
