Acts 8:1-8
The early church faced a moment of intense trial that could have silenced its witness. Stephen’s death seemed like defeat, yet in God’s sovereign plan, it became the spark that sent the gospel blazing beyond Jerusalem. The stones that ended his life echoed as a powerful testimony through the faithful who refused to remain silent. Persecution, intended to destroy, became the catalyst for spreading the message of Christ into new and unreached places.
As Saul persecuted believers, dragging them from their homes, God was orchestrating a greater work. Philip, one of the faithful servants, was sent to Samaria, a region long divided from Israel, to proclaim the Messiah. Hearts were opened, spirits were freed, and joy spread through the city as the gospel advanced. What the enemy intended for harm, God used for revival. His truth cannot be contained, and His purposes cannot be thwarted by human opposition.
Even in seasons of suffering and uncertainty, God is at work. In scattering, He sends; in trials, He strengthens. The aftermath of pain often becomes the birthplace of praise and growth. When circumstances feel chaotic, we can trust that God is building His kingdom through faithful hearts that will not waver. How might you allow God to use your own trials to bear witness to His glory? Even in brokenness, He is at work, turning obstacles into opportunities for His eternal purposes.
