Colossians 3:1-11
There is something both unsettling and beautiful about encountering the person you once were before Christ. It’s a mirror to the past, reminding us of how completely Jesus transforms lives. The gospel doesn’t patch over old habits or desires—it ushers in a brand-new creation. Like new wine bursting old wineskins, the Spirit of God reshapes our hearts, minds, and perspectives, making the old life obsolete.
Paul calls us to set our eyes on the heights of heaven, where Christ is seated in glory. When we fix our minds on things above, the distractions of this world fade, and the reality of eternity grows clearer. Sin loses its hold—not through effort or self-improvement, but through total surrender to Christ. The anger, pride, greed, deceit, and lust that once defined us no longer have power over the new creation God has made in us. We are clothed in newness, renewed daily, and shaped into the image of our Savior.
Life in Christ brings unity, freedom, and transformation. Old divisions and barriers dissolve, leaving one body, one Spirit, and one hope. The life you long for isn’t something to chase—it’s already yours, hidden with Christ in God. How will you live today as a new creation? Are you walking in the freedom of who you are in Him, or lingering in the shadows of the old self? Lift your eyes, look up, and embrace the life Christ has given.
