John 21:1-22
On the quiet shores of Galilee, a moment unfolds that captures both intimacy and revelation. After a night of labor and disappointment, the disciples are met not with reproach, but with provision. A familiar voice calls them to cast their nets once more, and what seemed empty becomes overflowing abundance. In that instant, they recognize the presence of the risen Lord — not in a crowd, not in a temple, but on the sand beside a simple fire. It is here that grace meets effort, and obedience meets blessing.
More than a miraculous catch of fish, this encounter restores hearts. Peter, who had denied his Master, hears words of reinstatement that resonate with hope and purpose. “Feed My sheep” is not only a call to ministry but a reminder that failure does not disqualify us from service. In these verses, we see the beauty of Christ’s patience and forgiveness: He meets us in our weakness, restores what is broken, and invites us into renewed fellowship. True rest is found not in striving or self-reliance, but in trusting the One who has already accomplished salvation on our behalf.
Every detail — the unearned catch, the waiting fire, the invitation to dine — whispers of God’s enduring grace. It is a lesson for our own journey: when we falter, when our efforts seem fruitless, or when shame clouds our hearts, He meets us where we are. He restores calling, strengthens faith, and reminds us that His presence transforms ordinary moments into encounters with the eternal.
As you reflect on this story, consider how God might be inviting you to trust Him anew. Where is He calling you to step forward despite past failures? How might His restoration shape the way you serve, love, and live each day? In every quiet moment and every trial, He waits to meet you — offering forgiveness, purpose, and a fresh start in His grace.
