Revelation 11:1-14
God often chooses ordinary people to carry extraordinary messages, and Revelation 11:1–14 reminds us that His voice cannot be silenced. The two witnesses—the “two olive trees and two lampstands”—stand as living symbols of divine calling, empowered by the Spirit rather than human strength. Their mission is urgent, their message unyielding, and their grief mirrors the sorrow of a world resisting God’s grace. Even in the darkest times, God raises voices that shine light into chaos, testifying to His truth and faithfulness.
We, too, are called to be His messengers. As ambassadors of Christ, our role is not one of comfort but of compassionate witness. We mourn sin, yet proclaim life through the gospel. The passage challenges us to examine our own hearts: are we listening? Are we willing to stand boldly for truth even when it is unpopular, to shine His light when the world grows darker? Just as the lampstands are fueled by the Spirit, so are we equipped to speak life and hope to a world in need.
The trees are speaking, their message unstoppable, echoing God’s faithfulness across generations. The question remains for us today: will we rise and let our voices be heard? Will our lives reflect the unwavering witness of those chosen to bear the light, even in the midst of opposition? The Spirit still calls, and the message still must go forth.
