John 17:20-26
There is no expiration on the prayers of Jesus. In one of Scripture’s most sacred moments, He lifted His voice not only for His disciples but for every believer who would come to faith through their testimony. Over two thousand years ago, in the upper room before His crucifixion, Christ prayed for unity, love, and the glory of God to shine through His Church — a prayer that continues to resonate in the hearts of His people today.
This message reminds us that Jesus’ intercession remains alive and active. His words echo across time: “Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am.” Every promise, petition, and expression of divine love from Christ’s lips continues to uphold, purify, and empower those who follow Him. His prayer is not limited by time, circumstance, or human frailty — it is eternal and effective.
When we walk in humility, love, and truth, the world glimpses the glory of God through the unity of His Church. Division, pride, and self-interest may dim that light, but Christ’s prayer remains, calling His people to reflect His character and purposes. His love sustains, guides, and strengthens us, preparing us for the day we will stand in His presence.
As you reflect on this eternal prayer, consider: How might living in unity and obedience reveal the power of Christ’s intercession in your life? In what ways can you embody His love today so that the world sees the glory of God through your actions? How does knowing Jesus prays for you now deepen your faith and hope?
