Acts 15:36-16:5
The call to “sound the trumpet” resounds through Scripture and across generations—a divine invitation to proclaim truth, warn of judgment, and point to the hope found in Jesus Christ. Just as Ezekiel served as a watchman for Israel, Paul, Barnabas, Silas, and Timothy became God’s voices in their generation, declaring salvation to a world lost in darkness. Even amid captivity, rebellion, and division, God always raises up faithful witnesses to call His people back to Himself.
Paul and Barnabas, once united in mission, faced a painful separation, reminding us that even devoted servants may disagree. Yet God’s sovereign hand turned disappointment into multiplication. Two missionary teams advanced the gospel: Barnabas with John Mark, and Paul with Silas. Out of division came expansion, and along the way, Timothy emerged—a young disciple whose humble faith and courage amplified the message of grace. Together, they proclaimed that salvation comes by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
As they journeyed through the cities of Galatia, strengthening believers and delivering the decrees from Jerusalem, churches were firmly established and grew daily. The trumpet of God’s truth rang clearly, calling His people to stand firm, love deeply, and live courageously for Christ. The message remains unchanged today: God still calls His followers to be watchmen, to lift their voices, and to sound the trumpet for a world in desperate need of the Savior. How will you answer His call to be a voice of truth and hope in your generation?
