Revelation 3:14-22
Sometimes the danger isn’t obvious—it creeps in quietly, like lukewarm water that seems drinkable but leaves the soul parched. A community once vibrant now rested on wealth, comfort, and outward success, yet within, spiritual life had grown faint. The words spoken to them resonate still: a gentle knock at the door, an invitation to awaken, to step back into genuine intimacy with Christ. Complacency can feel safe, but it slowly erodes vitality, leaving a heart full of everything but the One who truly satisfies.
Faith that thrives is forged in dependence and trial, not in ease and indulgence. Gold refined in fire and garments washed white are not merely symbols—they are the evidence of lives surrendered, hearts restored, and clarity regained. Pride clouds vision, self-sufficiency dulls desire, and comfort can become a subtle snare. Yet the mercy of Christ pierces through, calling the lukewarm to drink deeply from the living source that never runs dry.
When your spiritual water feels diluted, when routine or success leaves you thirsty, His knock remains. Will you open the door and let Him in, or continue sipping from your own well, shallow and unrefreshing? The invitation is clear, the offer abundant, and the choice ultimately yours. Where will you turn today—toward lukewarm ease, or living, flowing life in Christ?
