Revelation 5:1-7
On the island of Patmos, John is given a vision that unveils the glory of eternity. In this moment, heaven falls silent, creation holds its breath, and a question resounds across all realms: “Who is worthy?” No one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth can open the scroll… until one steps forward — the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David. Yet when John looks, he sees not a roaring conqueror, but a Lamb standing as though slain.
This vision reveals the profound worthiness of Jesus Christ, who triumphs not by force, but through sacrifice. The Lion’s authority is expressed through the Lamb’s humility; victory is born from wounds, and redemption flows from His blood. Through Him, sin is defeated and the inheritance of the earth restored. The Lamb who was slain now reigns as the triumphant King — omnipotent, omniscient, and eternal.
As we gaze upon Christ, we see that His scars are not marks of defeat, but enduring signs of love and mercy. The Lion who commands the universe is also the Lamb who bore our sins. His power is perfect, His wisdom complete, and His love everlasting. This is the Savior at the center of heaven’s worship, the One whose sacrifice secures our redemption. How might we respond to the Lamb who reigns as the Lion of our salvation?
