1 Corinthians 15:50-58
The Apostle Paul reaches the breathtaking climax of the resurrection, taking us from the shadow of the grave to the brilliance of eternity. Death, the great adversary, has preached its message to every generation, yet in Christ, its voice is silenced. Its sting is removed, and its victory undone. What once held fear and despair now becomes the backdrop for divine triumph and hope.
Our mortal bodies, frail and perishable, were never meant for eternity. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, so transformation is required. In an instant, at the sound of the last trumpet, the dead in Christ will rise imperishable, and those still alive will be changed. Mortality will give way to immortality, and the perishable will be clothed in imperishable glory. In that moment, creation will echo with the triumphant cry: “Death is swallowed up in victory!”
What once brought fear will give way to joy. The grave, once claiming dominion, will yield to resurrection glory. Jesus has conquered sin, the law, and death itself through His cross and resurrection, and because He lives, we too shall live. Every act of faith, every tear, every labor for His glory is never in vain. How does the hope of resurrection shape your daily life? In what ways can you live with steadfastness, knowing that one day all sorrow will be swallowed in victory and death will be defeated forever?
