Matthew 25:31-46
When Jesus returns, nothing will be hidden, nothing delayed, and nothing disguised. In Matthew 25:31–46, the King takes His throne and all nations stand before Him. The time of separation comes: the righteous on His right, the unrighteous on His left. This is not a matter of preference but of destiny. Every overlooked act of mercy, every hardened heart, and every neglected opportunity is brought into the light of eternity.
The commendation of the righteous is striking in its simplicity. The sheep are praised not for grandeur, but for Spirit-led compassion—feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, comforting the afflicted, and loving the unseen. Their deeds flow naturally from hearts transformed by grace. In contrast, the goats, though religious in appearance, reveal by their inaction that they never truly knew Him. Neglecting others becomes the evidence of neglecting the Savior Himself.
This passage calls us to a faith that bears fruit. Salvation is not earned by works, yet genuine faith inevitably produces action. One day, every soul will face an eternal verdict: “Come, you blessed of My Father,” or “Depart from Me.” There is no neutral ground. The Shepherd knows His sheep, and His sheep know His voice. May our lives reflect that knowledge, serving others as if serving Christ Himself, so that when the day comes, we stand among those welcomed into His eternal presence.
